See what people are saying about Harbor Books

To me, there is nothing better than wandering into an independently owned book store and losing yourself in the jacket descriptions of novels you’ve never seen. I love the artful shelf displays that are crafted with such care by the owners and employees— especially the hand written notes and recommendations by staffers. I bought three books and paid $80.00 - GLADLY. I love supporting small neighborhood businesses! I’m so happy to say “thank you” to the person behind the scenes, whose passion is wrapped up intricately in what I’m experiencing at their store. To me that is true luxury... The absence of multitasking and singularly, sublimely giving my attention to someone’s art.

Friendly helpful service. Beautiful decor. Comfy seating/reading nooks. Plenty of space for special events. So looking forward to each visit there!

Fantastic local bookstore in Sag Harbor with a wonderful range in their collection, relaxing chairs to sit and peruse, and the quintessential bookstore ambiance to make you feel oh so thrilled to be surrounded by literature. Spent a good portion of the afternoon browsing and reading in relaxing leather chairs, a fantastic summer afternoon. Great prices and vibe - Sag Harbor is lucky to have this gem!

Harbor Books is the best thing to happen to a changing Sag Harbor and is a very welcome addition to this very special enclave. A literary town like Sag Harbor needs as many gathering spots to support writing and culture as possible. There is nothing like a stroll through a bookshop after a movie or meal with friends. Harbor Books filled that void and MORE. Beautifully executed in a very engaging and artistic way- Harbor Books is the model that independent bookshops should follow. Welcoming- creative- and warm. I hope that Harbor Books in Sag Harbor is around for many, many years to come.
